Description
In the series of works "Τhe Μask", Marie Crhisoy paints in purely symbolic terms. The person or persons respesented in each design are wearing masks. It is those that one can wear in order to deceive or even fool with his/her internal fears-anxieties.
The elements generated by the artist regarding the person/persons, are the same phobeas always presented in a symbolic way, for example, the snake, the nails, the box. The gauze to wrap the upper part of the face and the square- rectangle space within which included are the symbolic pictorial elements, that indirectlyrefer to a reality. The reality of death in our lives , which for many the dominant fear above all other concerns.
The series of works "The Mask" is based on purely conceptual elements, resulting that the artist's writing is straightforward, with simple forms, painted with pencil, charcoal and a little color.
